Easy Peasy Caprese
(Ok, so it doesn't really rhyme that well if you say it in proper Italian. As in "ca-pray-say").
Ingredients
4 slices of proscuitto
1/2 oz of fresh basil, finely chopped
1 large heirloom tomato (or 2-3 tomatoes on the vine, depending on size), sliced horizontally
1 ball of burrata cheese
3-4 tablespoons of marjoram and basil- and caper-infused olive oil
Balsamic vinegar
Black pepper
Preparation
This is the easiest of recipes. To start, you can choose to put the proscuitto either on the bottom of the salad under the tomatoes or on top of the tomatoes (but under the burrata). In this particular preparation, I decoratively layered the proscuitto under the tomatoes.
Then come the tomatoes and then the burrata on top, settled nicely in the middle of the dish.
Top with the basil evenly over the plate and then drizzle the olive oil and balsamic vinegar to taste. Dust with black pepper and serve!
